Today is my daughter's birthday, she is now two years old. I was looking through the pictures of last years birthday party and came across a bunch of pictures of my grandmother holding her. My grandmother loved Cassidy a lot and was very proud of her. It tears me apart to look at those pictures. Cassidy had a great time though and dove into her first birthday cake and enjoyed ripping the wrapping paper off her first birthday presents. She was so cute.

Time seems to be moving so fast, I can hardly believe she is another year older. I look at the pictures from last year and today and it blows me away how much she has changed. I am absolutely amazed at how fast she learns and how quickly she picks up on things. She has not yet seen her birthday cake for this year but something tells me it will probably end up a big mess (just like last year).

I miss my grandmother a lot and it's days like today when my thoughts return to her and her influence on all of the family. Even with the reduced memory she had in her final few years she never missed a birthday. Going to my grandparent's house is just not the same any more without her.
